I have a copy of the budget 1916 edition and have scanned in Chapter 7: Topography of the Moon if anyone's interested. This describes a number of lunar features accompanied by some amazing illustrations - cameras weren't good enough to take close ups of the Moon in 1874, so what they did was to make plaster models based on drawings and photograph those instead!

Fantastik Dan! Nasmyth and Carpenter are two of the authors that define the Late Golden Age for me. I'd love to see your copy first-hand one day. Excellent job with the site as well.

I'll ask Watson to add this link to the lunar list.

Glad you enjoyed the chapter - old stuff like this needs to go on the Web before it's lost for ever.

Actually it's Hami's web site, I'm just trying to keep the people on there interested.
