hi folks,

first time poster here so I'm not sure if this forum is where I should be putting up this.

I edit the bimonthly newsletter for the Irish Federation of Astronomical Societies (IFAS) and just wanted to let people know that the Nov/Dec 2004 issue has an interview with Charles Wood. In fact, the whole edition this month is devoted to aspects of the Moon.

you can download the magazine from --http://www.irishastronomy.org/user_resources/viewFiles.php?folder_id=3

the magazine, called Arcturus, is a 1Mb Adobe Acrobat readable pdf. Previous issues have featured David Levy and Phil Harrington, while the Jan/Feb 2005 one will have Guy Consolmagno and Dan Davis.

best wishes for the weekend,

John

hi Chris/Floie,

many thanks for the welcome and kind comments. Do you go to the RTMC Astro-Expo Floie? I was there in May this year and am definitely going back in 2005. Hope to see you there. I met up with some of the Kern, San Diego, and L.A. club members at the event and had a good chat with them all (including supping some of the home-made beer the Kern gang had along!).

all the best,

John

Hello John and welcome to Cloudy Nights!

I've downloaded your newsletter and I'm very impressed!

I've placed a note in the Lunar Observing forum to alert all our friends there to visit your site.

thanks everyone . . . enjoy the rest of the weekend (have to face into the Christmas shopping today!)

p.s. I think it was your picture Carol of the Venus light pillars that I admired on spaceweather.com some time ago; really amazing photograph and so rare to capture. One of my big interests in the hobby is atmospheric optics.

Welcome to CN.

You might also want to place the general link to your society over in the Astrowebsites forum.
