My brochure lists a 60mm x 1200mm scope that looks a lot like yours. I still can't get over the condition :shocked:

Nope, its tapped clear through. Look at the assembly below and you can see how it goes together. Excuse the crummy picture as it was taken with my point and shoot pup at 1/5 of a second, hand held.

hi james,thanks for the reply.then the tray acts as the nut as it is threaded without a wing nut.also is there some kind of case for tripod and mount when new. thanks bob.

Yep, the round tray is the wing nut. If there ever was a wooden case for the tripod legs and head, then I didn't get it. Sure would be nice to have one.
