HI all,

I'm fortunate. Where I live we have few nights where dew is much of a problem. Many nights I can get away without not using a dewshield on my telescope.

I purchased the Meade dew shield but have not been satsfied with it. The Meade dew shield is a plastic dew shield that threads onto the end of the OTA. The problem is this makes the front of the (already) front heavy scope too front heavy to use when manually searching for objects. IF I tighten the clutch to the point where the scope doesn't fall forward, I can't move the scope easily when searching for objects. Loosen it up and the front of the OTA moves downward.

Those using the GOTO controller will obviously not have this problem.

Anyone have a solution for those of use who don't use the GOTO but need a dew shield?

I have an etx 125 ota (modified). I purchased a dewshield from dewshields.com. So far works very well. Simple design, non-electric.
