After work on the mission archives came to a complete stand-still for the past couple months, work has once again picked up and the VUSSP mission archive is expected to be completed in its entirety within the next 5-7 days. During this period, parts of the archives that have been completed will be released as they are finished. At this time, the entire apollo mission archive is complete and work has begun on the space station freedom archive, however the STS-10/SSF-3 archive will not be posted online for quite some time as it was the most image documented mission the VUSSP has done to date (over 40 pictures were taken during this mission). So far, 3 sub-archives have been finished and released. Please check them out. If you have any suggestions, please send them to hdirector@vussp.com. We hope you enjoy the new look of the VUSSP mission archives.
For those of you who have seen the VUSSP site but do not quite know what exactly it is that we do, a look at the mission archives will give you a perfect idea of what the VUSSP is and what it does. The archives can be accessed at http://www.vussp.com/archives.php
Automation To Come To The VUSSP Website
Thats right! Automation is finally coming to the VUSSP website. Work is currently underway to incorporate an all new member management system into the VUSSP website. This new system will allow astronatus, pilots, and mission controllers to keep track of their time, and their private VUSSP information and other things. This new system is slated to be released in two weeks if everything runs smoothly. During the installation time, the VUSSP site will remain ONLINE and operational so as to not inturrupt normal VUSSP operations. In addition, upgrades to the automation system will be made to increase member enjoyability and lessen the burden on VUSSP staff members. More information on the VUSSP Member Management System (version 1.0) will be released as it becomes available.
