Here's a relatively wide field of M 46
Posted Image

includes bonus planetary nebulae NGC 2438
and Minkowski 1-18 (further north)
open cluster NGC 2425 is seen to the right
in the full scale image here

FS60C, F/4.2 FR, IDAS LPR filter/CS 10 nm Ha/Baader 8.5 nm Oiii filters, H9C/H9
RGB 80x1 minute, Ha, Oiii 18x5 minutes
Los alamitos, CA
bortle white skies

calibrated, combined, color balanced, ddp, curves gradient removal in maxim
then to PS for further gradient xtermination, light HP filter
color blur to brighter stars
narrowband image added in lighten mode
Noel's DSN reduction, cropping etc.

Here's a blink of the RGB with the narrowband added:
Posted Image

shot the RGB when i was cluster hunting in january.
instead of adding luminance,
i decided to go narrow band to get the second planetary
which i just missed last year with the FS102
thanks for pointing it out Dean

That's such a cool nebula with a fun cluster around it. That narrow band really added a lot to the image.

Very nice. If you had not posted the blink image I don't think I would have found the Minkowski object.

I never knew the Minkowski object was there. I'll have to have a look at my M46 from the weekend and see if its there

Thanks for the post
