I'm in the process of putting my astronomy website together right now and I'd like to have an image that displays the current day's phase of the moon. Is anyone aware of such a site I could link this image to?

I've found a source that provides some javascript to generate this image, however I'd like to avoid using javascript on my website if at all possible.

For example, www.spaceweather.com has a daily image of the sun with sunspots labeled on it. I'd like the equivalent of that, but with the moon.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Those are good shots on your website. :jump: Have you put any together side by side or like a calendar month with all the moon phases on it? I think that'd be really cool.

Chris: Those are some great shots! But I was looking for an image I could link that would automatically be updated with the current phase of the moon. Thanks though! :)

Thanks for taking a look.

It sounds a great idea, but with the weather being so unpredictable its difficult to get a full month of images. :)

Most images like this have their roots in public domain image databases such as NASA's.
