I really don't know what I did tonight, something happened that I was able to get a heck of a lot more light out of my webcam than before. Seeing was fantastic tonight after the clouds cleared.

The above was my third frame in a series that I captured. I put together an animation, 7 .avis were taken 10 minutes apart from 6:48 to 7:48 UT. You can see the animation here. I'm not sure if I can get any better captures with my 6", but it is a trooper...I pushed it and it came through for me tonight.

One last question. I see some ppl put on their images, stuff like CMI, CMII, CMIII....just what do they mean? I tried searching for an explanation, but I cant find anything much about it.

very nice, zA. the animation looks good, too.

transparency can be fickle. even the thinnest clouds can drop the histogram when capturing with my 8".

CM stands for central meridian, of which jupiter has 3 due to the different rotation speeds of the clouds. heres a good web page that explains it that i found with google.

Yea, I think transparency is my main problem. I am usually off shooting DSOs, and haven't really had that much experience with the planetary stuff. So I havent really been able to compare much with what nights were clear and which gave me the best shots.

I am going to take the best frame and redo the stacking by splitting the .avi to rgb and stack them individually to see if I can come up with something better.
