Acting on a suggestion by a fellow forum member, I'm starting a thread for interesting and useful Planetary Imaging Tutorials and Tips. Please feel free to contribute any interesting links that you may find - but please understand that I (or another moderator or admin that might come along behind me) do reserve the right to edit or delete links at any time for any reason whatsoever. Please limit your additions to really useful and informative links on Planetary Imaging!

Here are a few notables to kick things off!

The jet stream maps:

You want to look for nights with little to no jet stream over your area for good-great seeing conditions.

Getting Started:

This is an article I wrote on the very basics of getting started in planetary/solar system imaging.

An article I wrote on planetary and lunar imaging, with a focus on small Alt/Az scopes. (Mine is a 127SLT)

Covers powering the scope, focusing with a Bahtinov mask, dew control, software settings, lucky imaging, processing, effects of target planet rotation, and a sample workflow.

Thanks!
