PAPS - Polar Align via PlateSolving is not showing accurate results, so the small update APT 4.01 is released to fix that. We have used the opportunity to include a few more fixes and minor new features.

Hello,
The beta APT 4.22 comes with a game changer feature - database. The unique way to find your images!

 

If you have a key I would suggest installing 4.22 in order to start gathering information from the next sessions.

 

The list of the changes is :
- Added DataCraft DB Browser (see the notes below)
- Added FITS files indexer
- Added Ctr+A to select the text for all edit boxes
- Added "Store in Same folder" option in Planetary panel - when enabled will create one folder for all recorded LiveView images till you close the panel
- Added Altair Astro SDK 20230329
- Added QHY SDK 23.05.09
- Added SVBony SDK 1.11.3

 

- Changed the code for Exposure Cancelling for ToupTek based cameras

 

- Fixed possibility to set 60% USB speed for ToupTek based cameras

- Fixed for Canon/Nikon rare case when R+L is used the JPG and RAW to have different names because of different time
- Fixed rare cases when RAW and JPG files are not grouped in one Thumbnail in Img Tab
- Fixed wrong error message when Blind solving is enabled in SessionCraft

The beta 4.24 is released

 

APT 4.24 - Beta version

• - Added Possibility to edit plans during plan execution. The current plan can't be altered
• - Added "Skip Shoot" in DataCraft Settings - for transfer and DB
• - Moved FITS indexer in DB Browser-> DB Tools
• - Added DB Browser->Verify - will check all records in the DB if the image files exist and removes records without images
• - Added in DB Browser Ctrl+Search will delete all the records which corresponds to the search criteria (two confirmations required)
• - Added in DB Browser, Shift+Click on Delete removes all conditions
• - Added possibility to import the selected object name from CdC. Works in Object Browser and Gear->Objects
• - Added #CCDWarming to use the Warming offset
• - Added Chamber pressure/hum in Camera Tab->Settings for QHY
•  
• - Fixed are cases when APT could crash on image browsing, thumbnail creation and in other cases|

 

If you have installed 4.22 or 4.23 be sure to upgrade to 4.24!

APT 4.42 - Critical update for Win 10 users

 

If you are using APT on Windows 10, please apply APT 4.42 in order to avoid crashes. The latest Windows 10 update changed the list control behavior and is causing the usage of Stars, Custom/ToDo tabs in Object Browser, Check Lists and few other places to close APT.

APT v.4.50 - Stability and new features

 

Microsoft has released another Windows 10 update (KB5035941) which is affecting APT. This time we took extra care to eliminate such problems in future. For Windows 10 users APT 4.50 is a critical update.

 

We also made many stability improvements that avoid many if not all random crashes.  As usual there are new features. Some of them long awaited, others unique new ideas.

This May is a very special month Sometime in May 2009, APT was used for the first time to take real astro images, so we will celebrate 15 years of APT gathering distant photons! The time flies when is spent in a good company! Great thanks to everyone for being part of the community and the project!

 

As you know the last two years are more difficult, but what is a celebration without presents So there will be a modest gift - on May 11th all active keys will get one extra month

Will APT have a "plan" to create flats for DSLRs anytime in the future?

Hello Rudy,

APT has Flats Plan for DSLRs for ages. The DSLRs have very convenient AV mode which to be used for creating good flat frames.

Happy APT Day Somewhere in May, APT was used for the first time under the sky. We don’t remember the exact date, because of that we decided to pick-up one It had taken time till APT became good enough to for public use and officially was released in January… So, this is a pre-birthday, celebrating moment when APT passed through the “Proof Of Concept” and started to generate real astro images

 

The project is in its 15th year! Thank you for your support during all these years!

 

As a small gift, all active keys were extended with one month.
