Good news :)

In order to use custom flats please go to Tools tab->Settings->Advanced tab and enable "Advanced Flat Bias plans" By this APT will not use the AV mode for flats. BTW currently am working on Flats Aid that will help to determine the right exposure time :)

Hello,

The SBIG support is almost ready :) The camera control is working fine. The only problem is in the communication with SBIG wheels.

If you want to join to the beta tests you can find the installation here:

Many thanks for your help!

I'm sorry to say that, but the problem is in the Canon drivers :( There is no 64bits driver for 350D and because of that there is no application that can fully control 350D under 64bits version.

The only known solution is to install a virtual machine with 32 bits version of Windows and to control the camera from there :(

Is there any chance of getting APT and my 350D with a Win7 64 bit PC connected and working?

I already tried WinXP virtual machine and it didn't seem to make any difference at all.

On Edit.. I see you already answered my deleted question.. After some research I thought the WinXP virtual machine would do it so didn't want to bother you..

Thanks..

Hmmm, strange... Is the XP virtual machine with 32bits version of the operating system?

First make sure that you have installed the APT version for Digic II. If there is still a problem try to install the EOS Utilities. APT contains the needed libraries, but in very rare cases there is need EOS Utilities to help with the driver installation.

Hi all, i'd using APT tool for centering stars in live view. I noticed that if use zoom 5x and 10x object remain centered, if i uncheck zoom, object goes away from center. Which is the correct position? I mean, if i center object using 5x or 10x zoom, i'd be sure that object is well centered?

Hi Luca,

There is a small bug with the centering of x5 and x10, which will be fixed in the next version. From my experience centering the star without zoom is enough for GoTo alignment ;)

Ok i used APT for my Celestron VX ASPA procedure, using directly my Canon in live view mode, for centering various stars. I'd be great if 5x and 10x would be fixed, so i can avoid to use visual setup for ASPA, then remount photo setup....

Hi Luca,

The fix is ready :) It is not possible to center the usual cross precisely when x5 and x10 are used because of limitation in Canon interface... But I have put a small cross to mark the sensor center.

Please send me your mail address as PM and Tuesday (I'm out of the town) will send you an official version :)
