Thanks sunrag and jehujones for your responses. It seems the AD10 base diameter (22”) and the roll kit diameter is very similar. In fact, the mounting bars under the roll-easy kit are extending out quite a bit, and should hopefully, add to the stability of the scope. The only issue I can see is that it will add to the weight of the base, for lifting in the car & transporting to a dark site. I am looking at the sheer convenience of rolling it out of the garage to the backyard, for the bulk of my observing sessions.

personally, I see myself tripping on those things. as to portability for remote observing, there is also the option to get a replacement base to use just for that purpose. perhaps you can get a folding base from Mark (Astrogoods)

Good point! With the wheels sticking out like that, it is only a matter of time before you trip.

I suggest looking into "drum dolly" or "plant dolly" available from hardware stores. These two have an inside dia of 24" and rated to hold 500 lbs.

^^^They'll work very nicely on smooth floors and pavement but look out for cracks and voids!  Their small wheels wouldn't make it over the bump from my driveway into my garage.
