Just heard back from Celestron. They told me that they are no longer selling parts. So, that's the end of that.

Sorry, I would have told you this earlier than now had I seen this thread earlier - Same goes for you had you seen mine in the mount section lol.

Coopman: During the course of mounting my newly-acquired C8 OTA (CG5 dovetail, same as the SE mount uses) on my 6SE mount, I did some experimenting. The bezel is easy to remove (4 screws). The dovetail bar on the C8 then fit fully into the clamping mechanism & the mount worked perfectly. As Dan commented, the bezel is cosmetic & serves no functional purpose.
If you look at photos of nearly all other mounts, no bezel is used: all of the GEM-types, the Ioptron, the Vixens, etc.
In case it has become impossible to obtain an 8" bezel from Celestron (I consider this turn of events disastrous), you can still mate your C8 to a 6SE mount by either removing the 6" bezel, or by placing shims between the dovetail bar & the C8 OTA, as described above. I tried both, & both methods produced excellent GOTO's.
As I stated previously, my shims are available.

Hi Clay,
Just to support hazilim, my scope works perfectly well with the shims in place. My Goto's are as accurate as they were before shimming.
The other alternative is to install "Ron's Rail" (see Eddies Rail sticky) something I am going to do later this year (dovetail already purchased) as I need to be able to move the O.T.A further forward. This does away for the need for shims and cures the bezel problem at the same time.

Good luck chose which way you go. Peter.
