I was looking for an astrograph, something a little faster than the ED80, and that would have a little more light-gathering. I was planning on a 6" f/5 Newt + Paracorr combo, and had even put feelers out to that effect, when a Meade LXD55 6" f/5 Schmidt-Newt sort of followed me home, meowing.

After a week of nail-biting (I *hate* ground shipping...), my new baby finally arrived on my doorstep this evening, all shiny and with that "new scope smell".

Collimation is spot-on, and a quick peek under the stars revealed some pretty views. I can't wait to catch some photons with this li'l guy!

...I just hope my dog won't get too jealous. :o
