This is a continuation of the previous thread. I’m locking the older thread but will keep it on for a couple of days.
A few reminders :

1) do not post your own ads or the ads of your friends. This is considered sale promotion in the open forums and this is a violation of the CN TOS. Please post such ads in the S&S forum or the CNC.

2) do not post photos from ads unless you have the permission of the person who took the photo. If you must have some reference to the photo in the post, then post a link to the photo, not the photo itself.

3) do not post the entire ad text (or large blocks of it) without permission from the author.

4) try to concentrate on the item for sale and not the seller.

5) Buyer beware - there are some scams floating around, so do your homework before pursuing any ad.

6) CN is in no way responsible for the content of these linked ads.

Best regards and clear skies.

It has been posted several times. There are not too many classic scope buyers in San Diego. It would have to be cheap for me to buy it.

Good catch astromania!

I'm adding "VINATAGE" to my key word search list  Although there was almost nothing here to catch in the way of keywords, I was informed about this lovely scope by a VERY ALERT friend here on the classics forum. I spoke by phone with the seller late last week and hope he remembers me and returns my phone call today, as I have been able to organize the details for pick-up. I'm actually going to be driving through Spokane next week (God willing) in a very high milage Honda Del Sol on my way to the Rockies. The case won't fit in the trunk (too long) nor the back seat (isn't one), but it'll look fine riding shotgun for the 3k trip. Might keep me from picking up the wrong hitch hiker and getting my ride jacked or something.

Unbelievably coincidentally, I'm headed down to SLO on Thursday to pick up a 60mm Carton I paid for 2 months ago. Just talked to the guy. It's going to need recoating, and probably has sat outside, but I'm likely bringing it home. Details to follow.

Crazy. I am also getting a scope from SLO tonight. Sure wish I had enough room for the Cave.

That Cave looks like an 8" with 1.5" shafts! $150 is a good deal on that! If I didn't already have 3 Caves, I would go for it

Heck, SLO must be on the way to Pinos, right? Bring it to the Classic star party in 2 days!

Oh, how I wish! But with a 15 month old and a 3.5 year old, I'm afraid my anchors are set for the next few cycles. I spent 2 months living in a tent and traveling among the parks of the western US, so I loves me some carcamping, but it's going to have to wait until my youngest is of an age that I can teach him to look in, not try to eat an eyepiece....

Guess it's a 8" F/7 or 8, looks like some kind of straps holding to the mount.

I picked up a C4.5 like this one some time back. While I paid quite a bit less than this, I can tell you that this Vixen-made reflector (and mount) is worth the $250. Fantastic little mirror and a rock solid Polaris mount.

I left email and phone with the Paso Robles Cave saying I'd take it for $200.

Not holding my breath...

It's put together wrong! Notice which way the RA Shaft is mounted on the pier cap?

I don't have personal experience with that scope, but the price was right! I think the compustars are going to hold value/interest as the years go by, because they were the first of the goto's.
