Last week I was in my local Lidl store (best known for not very high quality but cheap goods, (a little like Wallmart in the US)when I saw a bin of 10x50 Meade binoculars on sale for £14.99 (about $20) At that price I had little to lose so bought a pair. They are excellent!!!Crisp sharp images, well made, with strap and carrying case the best bargain I've had for ages

That sounds too good to be true.
Anyway congratulations on your new binoculars,10x is an excellent all round size.
These are far better than the "Mega Zoom" type binoculars that stores like Argos sell.
North East skies 95% cloudy :nonono:

Lidl sold them in Germany, too. The forum member of astronomie.de were of very divided in their comments about these, so I guess there were some quality control issues.
Glad to hear that you did not get a lemon!
