I just received a 7x50 Mariner Bino that I couldn't pass up... They aren't joking about the "girthy" prisms, they are bigger than the objectives. I assume this is part of the "shock proofing"??

I will be doing a lot of kayaking this summer and thought a lower power would be good for water based viewing.

The first thing I noticed is the AFOV feels smaller than my 11x56's even though they are 7.0° TFOV. But the eye relief of 24mm combined with the exit pupil of 7.1mm is really comfortable. It's as though you get them anywhere near your face and you can see stop-to-stop.

Even though they are waterproof, dunking them in salt water doesn't feel right.
