I just got the sd card All About the Stars and can't get the sd dust cover to go back in. When I press it in, the retaining plastic presses on the card and makes the cover pop back out. I thought of cutting the retaining plastic but worried the portion left inside the skyscout would flop around inside. I called Celestron tech support and they suggest that I try to pull the retaining plastic out if I can without breaking off the tab inside and then cutting off the retainer cable which should allow the dust cover to fit. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a fix. It doesn't look like I can pull the retaining cable out without breaking off the tab inside.

My SkyScout was a gift from my brother, who used it for a while then gave it to me for xmas.
So I got it and the 'All About the Stars' card and the SD card cover was not attached and looks like it was pulled off.
I don't think he cut it. And there is nothing flopping around inside.

Thanks for the tip. I pulled on the cover until the retaining tab pulled out and it came out in one piece. I cut off the retaining wire and now the cover fits properly.
