just wonder if a person could use one of these things with a lasor pointer attached to it on a tripod, locate a object, then point your scope in that location. at least it would get you close. don

Just like Edward; I used 10" (1"x1/2"x10" Red oak) for the dobsonian and the magnatic interference has gone. Use the Aluminum foil around the tube or use Mu-Metal to reduce the electro-magnitic interference. The wood is cheap and easy to built small mount for skyscout to attach with your scope. I removed the finder and attached it.
