I received my SkyScout today and took it outside tonight during a break in the clouds to do a quick check on the accuracy. It linked with GPS quickly. I then had it locate Jupiter as that was one that was easily identified by my naked eye. Following the arrow indicators it centered Jupiter in the view through it. Then to the Moon, same thing, exactly centered. Then on to the Orion Nebula, again it was spot on. My last test was Sirius and again it took me right to it. I am very pleased with its performance. I plan on using it as a DSC on my 10" dob. I ordered the ScopeScout mount which is designed to keep the metal tube from interfering with the GPS link. Once I test that I will post results.

Thanks! I'll probably need to call them. My scope (the refractor) does not seem to have a model identified for it.

I know the main mount fits an Orion dovetail finder bracket.

OK, second light: Another quick session, partly cloudy skies. I was on the sidewalk close to my house and the "magnetic interference" icon was showing, yet it still directed me right at the moon, Betelgeuse, and Sirius putting all of them right in the field of view. It will be interesting to see how it performs when I get it mounted to my 10" dob using the ScopeScout mount with the included disruptor.

I've found that it takes only 2-3 ft of movement to get that magnetic interference msg to go away.

Let us know how it works for you when mounted on the scope.

Very true. I've actually got it to connect while inside the house without the "magnetic interference" icon on, which is more than I can say for my expensive TomTom gps, lol.
