i have a meade 8" sct (older scope) fork mounted. i set the fork assembly on a table and use it in altazimuth, manual movement. Ive checked the scope tube, fork, etc, and all are aluminium. just wondering how well the sky scout would work on top of this scope as a locator. thanks, donnie

You may wish to consider the additional weight of the skyscout on the scope.

If there are no balance/weight issues, the accuracy of the skyscout and alignment of the skyscout to the ota are the main issues.

There are some vendors that sell mount adapters for the skyscout, or you may wish to atm the mount adapter.

Good viewing,

Dave
