Hi Mike,

Can you post the link. I could not find it.

Thanks,
Dan

Dan, I heard it was sold a couple weeks ago.

Riches scope on Ebay has a shelf mounted electric drive with the metal shelf. I think it was an original 160 Unitron telescope.

Hi Dan,

Jim Cuca, of the Chicago Astronomical Society is handeling the sale of the Unitron 160. You could try sending a PM to "Napersky" here on the CN forum for contact details; sorry, my email info was deleted.

Cheers,

Ran across this Edmund Scientifics Newt in the local Craigslist ads:

http://losangeles.cr...2597705405.html

Not interested myself, in the process of acquiring (aka: waiting for a check) a new SCT. Might be of interest to someone here, though.

Nice looking C14 on eBay but the price seems a bit steep:

Yeh Jon, great shape, astronomical price though. I see the astronomy shoppe has a used complete C14 for $3000, much more realistic price. Bob

Nice looking Edmund 6". Looks complete, with drive. A bit top end price, but sellable to a seeking buyer. They might take a hefty reduced offer if they really want it gone quick. $300 doesn't hit me as a quick sell price...unless the seeking buyer comes along.

That C14 is clean, but no way they will get that asking price.

That one's been listed off and on for months now. If I had the room, I'd offer him $100 for it, and see what happens.

Ah, doing some more reading I'm finding that these are not particularly great scopes. Mentally I figured they would be up there with the RV-8 but I suppose not.

Hi, I'm new here having discovered CN on a search for info on a C.O.C. scope I picked up at stellafane this year. Though I'd post a cople links to a Orbit Scope that looks a lot like an old sears 6333, and a craiglist item on an old 7te tasco. I'm not the seller, or do I know the sellers. In fact, if I were in NY I'd go get the Tasco.

Came across two scopes in the Minneapolis area for sale. One is a Celestron C8, he wants $450 for the scope, tripod, case, and a couple lens. The other is an Adams (Montgomery Ward) 7233 60mm refractor with wood tripod and box. That one is $50. I'm looking at buying the Adams scope. Any thoughts on the C8?? I'm not the seller or even know the seller. :) Thinking about that one instead of the refractor. HHHMMMM!!! :)

Thanks Tom. Based on my scope searches and purchases since Stellafane, asylum may be the appropriate place.

If the Monkey Wards has a wood box I would grab it for $50. Do you know what EPs the C8 has? $450 I believe is about the going rate for an 8"...Nice EPs would raise the value.

the Adams scope has the box and the seller said it even has the orginal owners manual. It was his dad's scope. No other info on the Celeston, except that the color of the fork and the scope suggest early-mid 70's vintage. Wonder if I could convince my wife to let me get both. haha

Adams sold for $60 in 07 here - http://www.astromart...ified_id=502549

I looked at your ad - from what I can tell in the picture it does not look too bad. You can always check it out and offer less.

Although this is old (and I haven't heard good things about the optics in these yet) but perhaps this
Coulter (13.1"?) is worth checking to see if it's still there if it's dirt cheap?

It's been long gone. I didn't get it. I talked to the poster about a week ago. It is mostly plywood he made himself, the optics needed recoat, but you can't beet the price with ep's.
