WooHooo, yeah I'm skipping! I'm feeling better than James Brown now. I have an entry some where in the scope-a-holic string. I still enjoy this string and will never say never, but I'm succesfully thinning the hordes now. I've had some great mirrors over the years, one of the best was a 25" by Steve Swayze, whom I know personally, a scholar and gentleman. The 30" and 36" I have now are both by Vaughn Parsons of InterMountain Optics (IMO, not OMI) and the 30" has proven to be outstanding. The 36" has never cooled correctly in enclosed mirror box and needs some re-engineering, but shows good quality. Some great production mirrors are my Cave 6" and two Meade DS16. I sold one DS-16 complete original, and now have another DS-16 mirror in a truss dob. This current one my grab n go around the house and gives outstanding images. Saturn for detail is just WOW.

Lots of great entries in this string folks. Is there any other one in all of CN as popular?

Some of the things on this make me think "Unitron" - but I am by no means an expert...

http://cgi.ebay.com/...06#ht_500wt_949

The seller has added a picture of him holding the objective in his fingers - no spacers are visibile. I certainly hope it's a doublet and not a single lens. If the objective is cemented then I would be suspect if it is the original or a replacement lens.

Head's up people!

I mean,......another one that's pointing head's down!

Here's one that's local to me this.
Seriously, what's it worth realistically?

I might grab it for some good parts.

If the ep's are 1.25", maybe $50 tops.
They look to be .965" and I wouldn't drive across town for it. I might give 20 or so for outreach if it was next door, maybe.

Yep - those pop up fairly often and with quite low prices.

That most certainly can't be the objective unless, the man is a giant, looks to be about the size of a coin dollar, maybe the finder lens?

Good point. I took a quick look at the glass and didn't pay much attention to the rest of the picture.

I'm curious about this one. It is an early series mirror but the mirror number and date don't agree with the data in the mirror registry I've been keeping. I've emailed the seller for a photograph of the inscription.

Seller has a feedback rating of "1". Wouldn't go near that one for $25.00.

That would be for the Questar, not the C-10. The C-10 seller is well known with good ratings.

I found this Unitron 128 in Michigan and the seller and I worked out a deal bit it has hit a snag.

UNITRON 2.4 INCH MODEL 114 TELESCOPE / COMPANY SEVEN MUSEUM COLLECTION - $80 (ADRIAN)

http://annarbor.crai...2487136615.html

BTW the price is misquoted. She isn't comfortable with PayPal and taking payment from far away. Originally she agreed and I paid for it via PP but her kids told her it might be a scam! I cant convince her that its all legit. Her kids have her completely scared of CL and PP. sheesh.

Is there anyone who could go pick this up and pay cash for it and then ship it to me?

If so please PM me right away and I will give you her contact information.

I am first in line for this (finally) and don't want to loose out on it!

Thanks much in advance for doing me this big favor if you can. I'll PP the money and cover shipping and materials and even a little extra for your trouble.

I have worked on this all day and poof. Her kids nixed the deal. :flame:
