Maybe you can direct them to this forum?
sooo, have you confirmed what is or is not missing in terms of the Unihex? And is it a B or an A? The ad is confusing. Best to be on the same page with the person getting it as well as with the seller.

Seller has a feedback rating of "1". Wouldn't go near that one for $25.00.
Everyone has a low feedback score when they first join eBay.........

I found this Unitron 128 in Michigan and the seller and I worked out a deal bit it has hit a snag.
UNITRON 2.4 INCH MODEL 114 TELESCOPE / COMPANY SEVEN MUSEUM COLLECTION - $80 (ADRIAN)
BTW the price is misquoted. She isn't comfortable with PayPal and taking payment from far away. Originally she agreed and I paid for it via PP but her kids told her it might be a scam! I cant convince her that its all legit. Her kids have her completely scared of CL and PP. sheesh.
Is there anyone who could go pick this up and pay cash for it and then ship it to me?
If so please PM me right away and I will give you her contact information.
I am first in line for this (finally) and don't want to loose out on it!
Thanks much in advance for doing me this big favor if you can. I'll PP the money and cover shipping and materials and even a little extra for your trouble.
I have worked on this all day and poof. Her kids nixed the deal.
Strange, doesn't the picture show a Unihex but her ad says one is not included?

I am near Ann Arbor (about 1.25 hrs away) and am traveling that direction the weekend of Jul 23.
Maybe I can help. I will have family obligations but if I can fit this in...... if there aren't too many complications with the seller.

How about you contacting her and let her know that we,
( all of us good folks here on Cloudy Nights will send her e-mails to assure her of ( I mean vouch for ) your character? ).
I know you're a character, a good one!
I'll do it.
Your old pal,

I am going to take a look at this one tommorow, the pictures look pretty good. He had the serial # reversed, it is actually M-1495, so from 1959....
Yes Jim. He was nice enough to send me some pictures also and, as I suspected, had a couple of numbers transposed. It would be hard to turn 1959 into 1961 so I figured he had an error in the serial number.
I'll get this early one added to the Cave Mirror Registry.

Made by B.A.S. (or) Bedford Astronomical Supplies. I've had one of these before, it was very heavy, and the mechanics were very solid...
Any idea who made the glass?
The secondary spot looks tiny.
Oh heck! I don't need or even have time for another project

IMHO, Only if they have a direct fiber optic connection to the Hubble Space Telescope. Still, for a collector it is a rare bird and appears to be in excellent shape.
Wow. Haven't seen many of these.
And it looks like a beauty.
Unitron Satellite scope
I'll be watching...
WOW, are they worth that much?
