might be a good question for mr crilly he just switched from a sct to a mak..maybe he has some fresh images in his mind. although your comparing different makers so the glass might be slightly different. then again....
I'm the wrong fellow to ask this one; I read lots of reports describing which eyepieces give a warmer color than others and I believe them - but have never observed anything like that myself. Subtle color differences consistently escape me!

On a related note, I have an Intes (sold by Orion) Mak-newtonian, an observing buddy has an Intes Mak-Cassegrain and he noticed his images were noticeably yellower than mine; he attributed it to the fact that the MN's meniscus is thinner.
