CPC1100 that I've had for a while now but only just discovered this thread...

I've got ADM Vixen style bars top and bottom and ADM clamps attached to various finders, a GLP, Dew Buster with straps and a counter weight. A Baader Diamond Steeltrack R&P focuser with Baader 2" Zeiss spec BBHS prism diagonal. The Baader zoom is new and I'm waiting for weather to allow me to check it out. Also installed are a Feather Touch focus knob, WiFi module and a battery to eliminate potential cord wrap. I've got both a Celestron flexible dew shield and an aluminum shield. The aluminum shield stays in place better but the flexible shield is much easier to transport.

The scope is a real treat to use. So very easy to set up and align. Combined with Sky Safari 7 Pro and a tablet alignment is almost too easy.

Ok so here is my setup.  Just got this scope last week and after deforking I added a few accessories mainly an AM5 and an ASI air plus and a counterweight and bar.  I had to modify the mounting bolt for the AM5 to attach to tthe heavy duty mount but all went well.  Right now it's set up for visual with the Celestron f6.3 focal reducer but will be adding a cooled astronomy camera and new guide scope with guide camera next.  Clear Skies everyone!

love this, could you tell me how you modified the mount to make this work, as i am also thinking of going down the am5n or 150i route with pier extender. Currently have the nexstar evolution 925

What is the purpose of the aluminum shield? is is aluminized mylar, or aluminized kapton? Is it an insulator and if so, why? The temperature inside the OTA should be at ambient temperature, right?

Reflectix is basically aluminized bubble wrap that acts as an insulator.

Here's a thread that covers it nicely:

Personally, I'm pretty agnostic about it's effectiveness, but I live in a very heavy dew environment and use this in conjunction with traditional heat straps to mitigate the problems. I like to think that at the start of the session the reflectix eliminates heat plumes and as the temperature drops at night it insulates the OTA from the sky while the heat straps keep the mirror and corrector plate warm enough to discourage dew formation.

This is my Celestron CPC Deluxe HD 800 telescope. with an added Telrad and JMI Wheely bars. I replace dthe 1.25 inch star diagonal with a 2" diagonal too.

I have yet to purchase a wedge and a dedicated Astronomical Digital camera of some sort. I also need to purchase rails to mount guidescopes and counterweights.

I choose to control the telescope with TheSkyX Pro software on my notebook PC.
