Saw this on another forum and people were pretty stuffy but thought it might fit here.

Anyone have a nickname for their scope? Something you call it or refer to it by? Could be anything from "Betsy" to "Lil' Light Bucket...."

Mine's "Serenity," at least so far....she's still finding her personality. :)

We're not very stuffy here. There was a very active thread recently on such a topic; you'll find it here.

...edited to shorten the link - and to add the comment that only two of my current scopes have names. Both are displayed in my sig line.

Hi Julian,

Normally I don't name my 'toys'. However, in the case of my C11, I've come to think of it as "The Stray Cat".

I first purchased this C11 in the early 80's, sold it after about 10 years, and bought it back again earlier this year! :foreheadslap:

So who said amateur astronomers had to be "normal" :lol:

My C8 is nicknamed Piègehabuée, ie "piège à buée" in proper french, or "dew trap".
