I picked up a Celestron SS at Canadian Tire today for $139 - still a bargain - marked 'French Version' on the box, the only one left. It certainly is french and the Celestron website says language is not changeable even with updates. Does anyone have any different experience with this?
My French is not that strong but most of the data is clear enough or numerical so generally language neutral. I just had it out under totally overcast skies and it acquired GPS data quickly. I then asked it to find Jupiter and the Moon. The display zeroed down to where J & L would be so I think I will keep it if some clear sky nights confirm it's operation.
I hope to use it as a push-to system for my 120mm Alu. tubed f8 refractor. And it will certainly improve my French

Any thoughts?
Regards,
