Okiestarman 56 joined me at a local community center monthly outreach Friday night. We had about 15 viewers making for a slow night this month. There was a few though that where very interested. Didn't really expect much as the event was a reschedule from last week due to weather.

Too bad you didn't get more viewers. It's fun listening to the oohs and aahs!!

Sometimes fewer viewers can be a nice change. You can spend more time with each one, and discuss things in greater depth.

We had another good sidewalk event at the case community center with around 35 viewers Friday Dec 30th. Jupiter cooperated by rotating the GRS in view just as it got dark. The moon was another target. We also was able to get M31, M45, the double cluster and Orion's nebula. It never fails to impress me at the turnout I get for this event. I Somtimes think I have more fun than the viewers coming out to look through a telescope for the first time.

Had roughly 30 viewers this evening at the community center. Jupiter cooperated well again with the GRS rotating in view. Seeing was good at first. But did deteriate as the evening wore on. Not to bad since it was a reschedule as it was clouded out last night.

Down the turnpike in OKC we had an outreach for people with new Christmas scopes or who were interested in getting one. Had about 15 new scope owners, including several younger folks, a half dozen or so who were interested in entering the hobby and one man and his son who had inherited a beautiful orange tube C8 which had apparently been sitting in a closet for decades. Also had 300 or more eyepiece viewers passing by our setup in front of a retail store. A bit chilly but a most rewarding night, and we also had a photographer there from the daily paper snapping pics for use later this week.

glad to hear that Tim, we were swamped with viewers, 4 scopes setup and in use at the same time. We had great skies all night. Kind of upsetting to get home Friday night after we had set up and nothing but clouds to come home to no clouds but 20+mph winds. We'll have better luck next month.

Sounds like you had a good event also Jerry. See you next month.
Wow Mike, 300 viewers? That would overwhelm my setting. We only have had three scopes at the most here and often I am by myself. 60 viewers is enough to keep me busy.

Another fun event last night at the Case Community Center. About 25 Viewers through the evening, many were enthusiastic and really seemed to enjoy The Moon, Jupiter, Mars, and M42. The ISS made a nice 76 degree high 6 minute pass and was another crowd pleaser.
My friend Jerry Konieg (Okiestarman) came out and helped again, "Thanks Jerry".
