This past Saturday I helped out at a public outreach event at Usery Mountain Park in the east valley of Phoenix, AZ.
We had a total of 8 scopes from 18" Obsession to a 5" Apo. Refractor. At 6:30 we set up and hardly any people were there. By 7:30, just in time for the talk that was given we were up to about 500 people! Cars were parked a quarter mile down the road.
From 8pm to 10pm we were non-stop, I never got a chance to flip my 16" to another object except Orion. People loved to view of the nebula. They also saw M31, the moon, Jupiter, M45 and probably so other objects but I was so busy I didn't get a chance to ask.
Usery always seems to bring a 250+ crowd, most of the events I help with are around 80+ people. Large events are fun they keep you busy. I wish I had pictures but was way to busy.
Thanks for reading!

Great job Kevin! Try and get a snap shot of the crowds next time!

I considered going out there myself, but after many days in a row of often long-distance driving since before the holidays, I decided I wanted to stay home and not even look at the car for the weekend.

Kevin, were you with Stargazing For Everyone? I haven't seen them in years, my son and I used to go to their events. It's great to hear you had a huge turn-out.

Scott,
Yes most of the events I help out with are Stargazing for everyone events. Comes out to over 100 events a year or so.
