Congratulations on the honor - also congrats on your website, which I think is well done... I also visited Israel21c and saw the write-up, Ira, very nice publicity indeed! I trust that you will have more than a few new clients from this exposure.

Congratulations, Ira.

If I could find a shuttle from Arizona, I would be there in a flash.

How did your Mallincam adventure work out? I encouraged you after your MC inquiry and suffered with you while you struggled with import issues. Haven't seen any comments recently.

Regards,

Bill

Hi Bill,
The Mallincam is still waiting to see first light, through no fault of its own. I'm still waiting to get the mount going that I plan to use with it (an iOptron MiniTower Pro) up and running, and the mount was waiting for me to get a field battery to power it. All of the equipment has been at hand for a few months but I still haven't gotten the energy up to star the learning curve. I think at heart I may be a high-tech wannabe while in practice I'm just a luddite.

I, too, am something of a Luddite, or at least a minimalist. No more equipment than I need. If I were you, I would start by getting the mount working without the camera. Add the camera after you have the mount working comfortably. Once the mount is working, the camera will be easy. Which camera version do you have?..and are you planning to use a computer?

Are you aware that there is a severe penalty for missing the Orion season?

Good Luck,

Bill

We just returned from a visit to Israel. The evening skies from the Mount of Beatitudes were beautiful.

Glad you had clear skies. It's been cloudy and stormy most of Feb., even down in the Negev.
