My buddy Tom and I set up scopes in downtown Portsmouth, NH today to give the public a look at sunspot area 1439 which has been so active as well as solar prominences. We had four scopes set up, two H-alpha (one single stack, one double), one white light and one using the new "sun funnel" rear-projection kit I made for the upcoming Venus transit.

We had lots of people stop by, and everyone seemed to be aware of the recent CME activity. They were all interested to see where it came from.

This is a good time for solar outreach. We had a great time.
