It would be great if ~Steph~ could make it again! (Now, how to get a webcast set up...)

I'm trying to persuade Alan to come again.

Paul and I probably won't be able to make it this year ( :( ), but I'll certainly try. On the up side, I get to see Steph next month!! Woohoo! Wish Diane was coming too.

Rusty, keep working on Alan!

Erika, me too sweetie, me too. :( Doggone responsibilities. :shakecane:

I have to say it's nice seeing Steph and Erika back on the boards here. I know y'all have been busy with life, but you're just so darn cute! However, we've got to get Steph's avatar to start smiling.

June 22nd is on my calendar. Need to defend my "title"

Also, I will be bringing my 12.5" this year (the one I brought the first time I was at BEOTS). I just rebuilt the secondary cage.

Hey, it's better than frowning, right? ;)

Aw, Erika, I was going to message you and see if you thought you could go. Though I figured it might be tough, having just moved down here. We'll have to entertain the crowd with photos from our get-together next month.

Hi Jason,

Oh did you do a real nice job on this!

By the way gang, I had Scott's 6" f/10 Jaegers refractor overhauled and updated. Read about it here.

Um.....I think I'd like my Jaegers back now please.

Looking forward to seeing everyone 6/22.

Donny and I just finished up a job in Florida and now we're just west of San Antonio for the nite. Driving through Houston, as always, SUCKS!

Have fun at NEAF to those who can make it. I'm bummed to miss this year but I couldn't fudge the work schedule. Besides, Di has 6 new mouths to feed and the turkey started laying eggs so with any luck there will be another 16-18 new additions to the Horsie Petting Zoo.

LOL I bet you do! Hey, when I get done making my 6" f/15 refractor, I' sell that to you. Didn't you sell your LXD750 mount? That would be perfect for the 6" f/15!!! In any case, I will probably use one of the 6" refractors for Venus Transit day. You know what? Maybe I can come over your place with my setup in June to image the Venus transit .... if it's a sunny day. You have a nice low western horizon so maximum observation time is possible from your place too. The only thing is that we would need to borrow Johnny's CGE to set up the 6" f/15 refractor on it while I would have the 6" f/10 on my Atlas EQG mount.

Lenny, not to sound stupid....but what day is the Venus transit???

I need to put together a white light filter for my 4 inch refractor.

Well, as this 4th leg of this trip winds down (meaning we're at the Crowne Plaza, Suffern, NY, after the close of NEAF 2012), STARV II's initial prep for the BEOTS trip begins. First is a get-together for its sister Barth RVs in Goshen, IN (6/11-17), headed by Nick Cagle, who Scott and Diane have met. From there, Casey, Nelson, and I head to the home of my Favorite Niece and 2,371,988th Favorite Nephew.

Tomorrow, I head to the Atlantic City, NJ area to visit two sisters and my brother, thence to my cousin in Strasburg, PA, then home for final BEOTS preps. There will be a side trip with the truck and trailer hauling more stuff to DAV and the annual DAV LOA Memorial Day Picnic.

Hey Andy, I found the date here.

Awesome, now just have to find a piece of white light filter material, really do not wanna buy four sheets to get one filter, lol.

Be a pain setting up that early, getting up that early even, lol

Still hoping to make it to BEOTS this year, keeping my fingers crossed.

Andy,

It's not going to occur early! First contact is on June 5 at 6:04PM!
Look at all the information HERE

Eight years ago, on June 8, 2004, it was an early-morning event; but not this year. Don't miss it, because it'll be 105 years until the next one!

Hello Dave! :wavey: Thanks for the extra info!

p.s. how was NEAF for you this year?

Great, as always. We missed you and Scotty something fierce. With Mike Bieler not being there, and YOU not being there, it just wasn't NEAF. The entire event had a completely different feel. Not bad, just different. I don't like change. At all. It was nice seeing Steph, Rusty, EdZ, Jason, Luke and everybody else; but you, Scotty & Nickie weren't there to share in the fun. :bawling: Also, Cousin Lenny wasn't there! Johnny, Freddy and I suffered horribly.

Awww Dave. :grouphug: We suffered too. It was really hard not to be there. We were fortunate to see some folks on the webcam. That was nice.

It *was* different, wasn't it? It was great to see you again though, Dave. :grouphug: But next year, the missing will have to be there too to make it "juuuuuuuuuust right." :)

It's entirely possible that plane tickets have been booked for BEOTS.

Somewhere.

For somebody.
