Just picked this up today and wanted to see if anyone can guess what it is. These are not very common. Within this past year I believe one other surfaced.

The mount.

Before any more pictures pop up, I'm gonna guess an SE Laslo-imported Goto Kogaku refractor.

Kieth & Steve, sorry, both wrong. Another clue.

This is the finder. I have never even see a finder like this one.

Here is the wooden box. That hole you see next to the handle is not an error. It is supposed to be there.

The finder mounting hardware is the same as supplied on the Swift 839.

The case with securing hole for the mount resembles that of a Swift 831 77 X 1000 case except the hole in yours is drilled about 1.25 inches more to the right

The finder scope or bull horn is... unique.

Just like Steve, I would have guessed SPI 60 X 1200 Royal Astro mount.

Something EIKOW perhaps?

Eikow
Model: 6T 430
D=77mm F=1000mm

I'm going to try and put it together in a few hours. It came with 2 instruction manuals and also 2 Tasco brochures, 1 from 1963 and another one from 1964. It only came with 1 eyepiece (no problem). I believe that all the parts are here. An interesting item is the image erector. That screws into the back of the telescope, was this common?

Madeline,

If the optics are "as built", I think you are gonna LOVE that telescope!

The main opjective looks good, a little dirty. I think I may be missing a few washers. Hopefully I will get it all up by tonight. There are no setting circles on the mount. It also came with a plastic lens cap that is cracked but fixable.

Does anyone have any idea where these parts go?

One appears to be the declination lock for the mount.

The piece that looks a bit like a box end wrench I believe is part of the declination mechanics. In the center of the photo. Left side you'll see a shiney phillips head screw. Right side a shiney hex nut. I think the piece you are asking about is in between.

I should have it assembled tomorrow sometime. I have to go to the hardware store and pick up some washers for the mount. Their has to be some washers (as pointed out by the red arrow) to be able to thread the screw in all the way.

Wow! I've got the exact same OTA, but it has a different finder assembly.
They must've changed the finder mounting details with later models (my serial number is somewhat later than yours)

Interesting how 2 scopes end up on different sides of the globe.
