Update: I recently sold two packages and I still have two more.

I heard from Ovidiu on the ATS-forum about your 5500mm focal length lenses and would like to acquire one set if still available. Currently I have one 1490mm focal length singlet telescope in daily use and would love to experiment with this even longer focal length.

The topic can be closed and archived by a moderator. I would like to be able to acces it again, or make a reference to it with a link (if I will need to).

 

Personally, I still have some never ending problems with moving on my own (from dividing the inheritance) and also to make again and improve my optical workshop. But I still hope that someday I will be able to solve these problems and focus again on my passion for optical work...
Having some appropriate BK7 plates, it might be a chance to make more singlet objective lenses in the uncertain future. I mean some giant ones (D100mm)... for the most enthusiastic amateurs. 

 

 

For me, the upper limit in the f.l range is what I have already done (at about 5.5m), but I can say that this kind of refractor, with the objective so far ahead, it gives you a special feeling that not many people from today's world can understand.
