I received my GSO 42mm EP from Agena (prompt, courteous service) and finally got around to trying it in my LX200 -8 inch yesterday afternoon/night. With an Orion solar filter in place, I was able to get a wide angle view of the sun (no visible sunspots yesterday) that filled about 75% of the field of view. With the sun off axis, its margins were sharp out to about 90-95% of the field of view, at which point noticeable blurring/vignetting occurred. At night, these effects are much less apparent. The double cluster was spectacular. This is the largest field of view I will be able to achieve on my scope. It's a comfortable eyepiece with good eye relief, easily worth the $60 spent.
