Hello everyone, I know this topic is for anything, but it should be for anything that has to do with classic scopes. There is the feedback forum where you can discuss the site.

Thanks,
Sean

I was getting confused with this thread heaven knows I go off topic often.

With Duck Duck Go there are NO pop-ups.

Update.  Since I started using DDG, I've had 2,111 tracking attempts blocked.  I only use DDG when I use CN.   I only have the two Astronomic ads, and no others.  No pop-ups! No cycling ads!  It is like a safe haven once again.

I can see a larger spacing every so often between posts, and in voids in the right side bar. It seems to me, that this is where the ads would pop up, like maybe it had been pre-arranged just for us.

I ended up with a couple Nagler eyepieces included in a recent telescope purchase.

Mine are 7mm and 4.8mm Type 1 from the 1980's.

I immediately tried them out in my Coulter Odyssey, known to be fussy about eyepieces

because of it's fast f/4.5 speed.

The Nagler and the Odyssey are a match made in heavenwaytogo.gif

Here Ed Ting talks about the early TeleVue eyepieces, something you might end up

with when buying an old telescope:

FYI:  An excellent alternative to the Vixen 36.4 - 1.25" Adapter is the BORG #7317.  I bought one for my FC-76, and it's a much better part -- thicker metal, with 2 set-screws rather than 1.

Astro-Hutech sells them for $35 -->  https://astrohutech....17-1-25-holder/

I got mine on ZEN (of course!) for $20.

There is also a 7314 (I believe) short version of this adapter. I had to get one to use 1.25" items on my Pentax J60c. Even so, focus with a diagonal is a pinch.

Can't see any difference with such a crude setup and methodology. The C8 native looks best to me.

I thought the old classic looked pretty good too and the EdgeHD is a $1700 optical tube.
