Wow Buddy! What an excellent deal on an equally excellent scope. That is a telescope and mount that many of us dare dream to own. Again, many congratulations!

Julio, I think 3500 is a conservative estimate. He did very, very well indeed. Simply astounding. This shows that there are still some great deals to be had.

Is a 75mm Goto Hyscore model 454 OTA only in good condition a good buy for $250?

The mount is worth more than three time that

Buddy, does this guy have anything else for sale?

No, this is all he had to sell. It was the only scope he owned and never uses it. I spoke with him last night and asked some questions about it's history. He told me that he purchased it from his previous boss who got it for free from the school who's basement he was hired to clean. They were going to throw it out and told him that if he wanted it he was welcome to it. It sat in his barn in the rafters for 18 years. He sold it to the man I purchased it from for $500.00, and he was simply looking to recoup his money when he offered it to me. I am jumping for joy that :) I bought it. I had no idea the excellent value I was getting for such a token price!

Thank you, I will check that out. I also hope that there are no batteries still in it!

The battery compartment is in pretty good shape but there quite a bit of corrosion on the positive contact, The rest of the inside of the compartment is in very good shape. I am going to see if there is a way I can clean up the contact. Regular spray contact cleaner does not touch the corrosion.

Try cleaning it with baking soda to eliminate any remaining acid.
