Tonight is the first night I have had the scope out. The scope still needs to cool down. 75 in the house and 45 outside. However, the bands on Jupiter are easily seen and even some detail in the bands for a few moments. Jupiter is also very close to the moon which is not making things easy. The scope looks like it could be aligned a wee bit more, but I will save that for later. We see how it performs when it cools down. So far I am impressed.

It sure is fun playing with these scopes. Sure wish that moon was not so close to Jupiter. Can see some detail on the bands which is not bad. Using a 22mm nagler. Tried an 8mm radian but that did not work that well. That maybe about all the fun I will have tonight. And Dave, whatever do you mean, all those scopes?

Got a C10 a while ago. The Quantum is easier to set up.
Got some other toys also, but those I will be trying out some other night. Have a scope to pack up tonight so I better get busy with that. This is the first week I have some real energy. Thats why I am playing under the stars tonight.

search in google for "your search terms site:cloudynights.com"

It's better, but oddly one time I got a hit on a CN post years old, but the next day with the same search terms the page didn't show up.

If I have time this weekend I will put it on the bench and test the optics.  A shame we are going through this heat wave in the mid atlantic.  Not very good for veiwing.

Except for the color, that truly has OTI written all over it.  Does the little lever at the top back move a barlow into place or ????

The little lever allows the viewing to be done through the 90 degree eyepiece holder on top.

Here is a picture compared to an 180mm MAK
