FYI- I just spotted these two old scopes for sale at Hands On Optics:

"$750.00 Reflector - 8" F/7 Optical Craftsman. Easy Restore. Huge EQ mount."
"$395.00 Reflector - 6" Criterion RV6, Overall Good cond. No dents, motor works, complete."

I hope it's okay to post this- i don't necessarily mean to plug someone's business... but having just acquired my "new old scope"- an "Optical Craftsmen" Newt from the 1960's- i guess i'm excited at the prospects of seeing these old gems getting some action! They'd be a nice catch even for someone considering an imported Newt/Dob, as the optics may well be superior... i know i'm astounded at what mine's been doin' on Mars!

Cheers-

That's a good price on the RV-6. I have one I am refurbishing and I would not sell it for that price. I could not replace it with the quality optics the Criterion comes with. Most of the new cheaper reflectors are Chinese optics and weak spiders. At least it gives me a good idea what mine would be worth if I were to sell it.
I don't think anything is wrong with pointing mambers at CN in the direction of some good scopes for sale.
GOOD POST as far as I am concerned.
