Daniel, if I didn't already have a 3" oddball Japanese refractor, I'd be PM'ing you about your Goto. It is a remarkable instrument from a bygone day when craftsmanship really mattered. And, it has lots of cool accessories. And, it's just plain purdy!

I wish you Good Luck! with your auction. I sure hope it goes to a good home.

OK not gonna give me Emperor status for anything Terra? ANYTHING?? Well me neither lol!

The fit and finish of these Goto scopes are quite nice. When you compare the Goto 3" to any Royal Astro 3"... you just can't. I throw a RA 76mm tripod or pier over my shoulder and I'm off to observe. The Goto's with eq mounts not so much...multiple trips and still OW! but worth it!

I've done side-by-side comparisons of my 3" Goto (I think it's technically a 75mm from the 1950s/60s) and my best Tasco 76mm - Goto by a hair.

My 4" Goto remains my current "go-to". Didn't come with a mount, but I solved that problem. Someday I'll get it to Clint's summer classics star party and see how it stacks up to Unitron, etc.... I have no doubt it will hold its own.

It said the listing was ended because of an error. No relisting, though.

I had a bid on it and it got cancelled. The description had been changed appropriately.
This is happening a little bit too often on eBay.

Oh no say it is not so. People do that on Ebay. Of all the rotten things. Like wow. I had no idea that happened.

Thanks again for all your help, I relisted it with accurate info, (as best I could). You folks are immensely helpful and considerate, could have made me feel the fool, but instead offered a helping hand...kudos!

You are so welcome. It is a very beautiful telescope and will still do very well in auction. Great ad on eBay BTW. Best of luck! :)

So no SUPER SNIPE!! Good Luck Julio.
Your a good man Sodapopking!! Just for your info.. Instead of saying free local pickup. It is better to say Buyer to arrange Shipping. There are shipping places in every town that I can call and pay to pack and ship a scope like that. All the seller has to do is drop it off at the place.

Revised ad looks great, and I wish Daniel the best of luck on his auction.

I probably missed it, but is there a Model Number for this Goto?

Even though self promotion is against the TOS, I am currently going to let this stand, as this interaction helped the seller and any potential buyer avoid a big mistake. It also would have been noted on the EBay/CL thread.
However, I am going to lock it. Please do any discussions dealing with the sale through the sale site or by PM.
I do have to remove the EBay link above. Someone other than the seller can add it to the CL/EBay thread.

If someone from here buys it, then a new thread can be started on it by that person.
Brian
