Im not that familiar with the sky's so thats the reason I got the goto.....any input will be appreciated...thx

Hello RJones and a warm welcome to you.

I guess you can see we have several discussions underway here and in the equipment forum on the C11 and C9.25.

I had the CR150 a few months ago. I find the C11 really shows me a lot more and is much easier to use and carry. The C11 XLT on the new CG5 variant is a fine setup. I wasn't too impressed with those mounts last year but the new tripod legs make all the difference. The GOTO sure does help get around the sky. You will be seeing things in the C11 that are going to be hard to pick up in a finder. A smooth working goto can put you on the object and it won't even be visible in the finder. Many won't do without GOTO once they have had one.

Welcome to Cloudy Nights!

The C-11 is a nice scope. It will have, as mentioned, more light gathering ability (i.e. much more resolution). The CG-5 GOTO is a nice mount.

Because this is the Cats forum it is safe to recommend the C-11. I've had mine for over a year and like it.

Good luck.
