I seem to be afflicted with a mutation that I call Takitis-60. I'm frequently amazed at what's possible at minimal apertures.

No kidding. Sometimes, despite having other apertures to mix, I'll put the FOA-60Q and the FS-60Q on my dual alt-az mount and put a zoom in the FS and fixed FL eyepieces in the FOA for quick comparative diverse mags views from both. And then, when I go smaller, to the 51mm RedCat, I'm amazed again how much I can find with it. 60mm is a hinge point however. I notice more difference going from Tak 60mm to 51mm than downsizing from 80mm to 60mm. I love these small scopes more than I ever expected.

He looks for the very shiny object? Kidding aside, I am curious too.

How do you find the hood extension?

I got the shield extension through Takahashi America. It needed to come from Japan so I waited about 3 weeks, reasonable I think. Extra shielding aside, it weighs 420gm and helps with balance. It's available in white or silver (see below) and comes with a standard Takahashi metal cap.

There is something about a Takahashi and a Zeiss APQ that just "feels" special.

A transcendental feeling.

Has any tried using a Tak Extender (ED 1.5x, Q 1.6x, QE 1.6x, TOA 1.6x) with a binoviewer in an FC 100 or TSA 120? My thought is that the extenders May be a better choice than the gpc or Barlow.

Yes. Can't comment on GPCs, but I prefer the Tak extenders to Barlows.

The Tak extenders are invisible in use, and lower power than your typical 2x or more Barlow.
