Here is something in my hood. I don't remember what is good or not in the newish Tasco telescopes. I guess it is a 9VR by the brochure in the ad. Are these worth $20? Honestly I don't know. This new CN system is great but different than the old so I keep failing to supply a link to CL. Which is Eugene, Or. telescopes... phooey with trying to link it to my post!

The Tasco 9VR is made by Vixen and is considered to be quite nice. Even for a rich field type of 'scope. Get it, sell the eyepieces on Ebay., throw the 'scope in the trash, and you'd still come out ahead.

Give me one of the focuser tube extenders before you throw it out though.

Frank, I have a bunch of the extender tubes from both my Tasco 999VR and Monolux 4380 that I don't use.  How many do you need?

I'd grab a 9vr for $20; and USE it.I have one ;the 9VR and the near-identical Meade 277 and Celestron CO-62 are fine little daytime spotting/nature scopes  plus surprising good for rich field  and lunar observing from  a picnic or patio table. You can bump up the magnification enough to plainly see Saturn is a ringed planet,Jupiter and 4 moons, the faint colors of stars ....

You could part it out like the merciless mercenaries,or sell it complete .

I've been very pleased with my Diamond Z 999VR -- AFTER I made improvements to widen the light path and increase contrast -- excellent wide-field sweeper.  Shoot!  The accessories were worth more to me than the very low package price - CN wins again.

Sans & Streiffe #617 on eBay

It's been advertised often, and the price keeps dropping.  OTA tube will need some serious dent removal, but otherwise a 60x910 Towa rig with wood case that's not too shabby.  About 2 days left on this auction.

Bausch & Lomb Criterion 4000 Telescope on eBay

Here you go, Chuck!  Only $119 BIN with free shipping.

Lots of Sears 6333 scopes on eBay

Talk about flooding the market!!

Vintage R/A Drive (corded) on eBay

It should work with any Towa made GEM that has the large gear on one end of the slo-mo rod.

Thank you all for the insight. I'll try to snag it tomorrow but if someone gets there first that will be fine too. Not far from where I work.

You mean the one here:

http://eugene.craigs...4630777135.html

That's a Vixen scope I think.  It was doing wide-field before wide-field was cool.  It is surely worth that much if you can get it. The slo mo block is worth that.  Should be a nice Japanese lens in that thing.

The 60mm x 900mm eq. Tasco has been relisted on Flea-bay at the same starting price of 200 buckaroos! Nice but a bit overpriced for starting out! They should get a clue, they might have more success.

Maybe they were talking to these guys ... nice too, but THEY wont ship . (oops)    $200cdn  kijiji / ontario / buy and sell / page 4 halfway down /                <  why'd he do that ?

So heres the story ... I went to paste the Kijiji link and realized the link to the site had my default email.  I deleted the email address, re-posted but it was still showing up.  Thought.  Maybe because it was my computer accessing the page ?  Point being I could not ascertain that my email address was not part of the link.    I'd rather have the link here.  Anybody with a minute, I'll repost so someone can go there and tell me if it follows, or am I just drunk ?

Vintage 6” reflector on EQ mount/Wood tripod.  Looks to be f8 or thereabouts, mirror and cell appear to be in excellent condition.  I'm not interested in pursuing it, but am curious if any of you can give me some information on this one.  $100

Unitron 114

Isn't this the above referenced astromart scope?

Caveat emptor?

I bid on that ebay listing!

Got a message from ebay of auction cancelled because item is no longer for sale? So might have been scam or seller might have listed several  venues for maximum exposure.

The listing is still active.

Unitron on AMart you are discussing went from $700, to $650, now says $620.

Towa MMC-80 Cassegrain telescope - 80mm/800mm

in Germany: http://www.ebay.de/i...-/231308309972?

in Italy: http://www.subito.it...ma-96083471.htm (it's not a SCT despite what it said in the ad)

PS: we are several discussing this telescope here: http://www.cloudynig...ting-scope-f10/ (actual manufacturer was Towa Japan. Bresser, Kaewa, Baush & Lomb, Paralux, Perl were only distributor brands).

Reminder, only one auction or sale post per hour, folks.  You can list as many as you like, but please combine them into a single post.  The new rules are posted at the beginning of the thread.  Thanks!

Out of curiosity, I checked with the seller on AMart.  He says he is taking down the AMart ad and will sell to highest bidder on ebay, which is still an active listing.

Astromart has rules agaisnt listing both on astromart and Ebay.  They will remove the Astromart listing if they see both.   CL does not have that rule.

Zeiss is nice. Complete Telemator package incl. drive:

http://www.cloudynig...czj-telemator2/

however, no tripod and they are not easy to find.

You're right. I missed that little detail. Whoops!

They always looked like Zeiss transit ripods.

Something special at a Yorba Linda, CA garage sale?

http://orangecounty....4631081206.html

The label on the focuser seems to have "M" then A or I with other letters. Still, main tube, finder and a decent sized guide scope in a nice wood box. Wonder if the mount is there, or just the legs and OTAs?

Yorba Linda, CA garage sale

Looks like the Meade branded version of a Towa 339 (80x1200) with an extra refractor as a guide scope.

They do, but the top portion that the mount sits on is completely different.  There were times I thought I could buy the transit model and adapt it, but realized that would not work.
