i did metalized paper from bay photo... the print itself seems OK but the mounting on gatorfoam is incredibly lumpy, so much so that it detracts from the image. printmakers in RH has come thru consistently for me with metabolized paper on gatorfoam - the mounting looks much better than bay photo.

i did a huge metal print of one of the JPL voyager posters at costco and it came out great.

I haven't liked any of my metallic paper prints. The actual metal prints are great. I wish the metal prints weren't quite so expensive. I got my Rosette on 16x20, but that was on sale and it was still expensive. But it looks awesome!

I have a couple acrylic prints from Nevada Art Printers. Robert is amazing. High quality. More expensive.
I have a corona 24x16 coming next week.
For paper prints I like adorama a great deal.

Here is a review of sorts. I ordered 5x7 prints of my M31 on Adorama gloss and satin metal prints. In my opinion the gloss is so shiny it makes it useless to actually see anything on it and I find myself moving all over the place to get a viewing angle. I much prefer the satin. It seems slightly less vivid than the gloss, but is made up for in actually being able to see it. On top of that you are usually not able to fully appreciate the more vivid colors of the gloss anyway because it is mostly washed over by reflection. It is kind of hard to see in the photos though you can kind of get an idea. Satin is at top and gloss is on the bottom. Here is the original image submitted for printing: https://www.astrobin.com/313555/D

I will probably order up some large versions of my M42, Horsehead, and Rosette eventually on satin metal and will post once they arrive.

Looks pretty good. I really like the colors of the glossy ones, but any moderately bright rooms make viewing the print difficult. I am finding the paper prints on mount board looks pretty good too.

i printed an 11x14 acrylic print at costco... it looks pretty good i guess but i think i prefer the metalized paper. i have yet to do an astro print directly on metal so can't compare that.

That looks very nice. How much did it cost over there?

Has anyone tried Metal Mouth prints for printing? The owner suggested 'white glossy' for astrophotos. I sent him a link to my picture on AB but I don't know that he actually looked at it smile.gif

For mounting he offers the 'Tin Man' mount, which I think is pure genius.

not super cheap, $60 + tax and shipping. but IIRC it is cheaper than whitewall. whether or not it's the same process, i can't say.
