I have a Celestron C-8. I've had a Celestron solar mylar filter for about 10 years. Used it sparingly over the years. Recently used it for the solar eclipse. Great pictures!! How long do these filters last? Do I need to replace it or are they good forever?

Mine's over 20 years old (original C8, Thousand Oaks Optical). Keep it in box whenever I'm not using it. No pin holes, check before every use.

My guess is, they will last forever if given excellent care.
