Thanks so much Chuck ! My scope was the third on the right. My eyepiece holder was somewhat different. Those solar projection screens are exactly what i had. And my altazimuth mount did have latitude and azimuth circles on it. I better stop, its like i'm ranting on... Maybe i'll contact Dave, even if i unfortunatey dont have my ST-6 anymore. Again thanks so much for the video link, happy memories...

Just saw your reply now Stew44. And oh my gosh, finally saw my first pic of my ST-6 !! Last time i saw my baby was 31 years ago, just before i had to leave for bootcamp.I just went through your thread really fast to hunt down the pic. Now i'm gonna read it.Thanks again Stew44 !!

I am a newbie to classic Goto scopes and just acquired a circa-1970 6.5cm F15 achromat OTA.  Can anyone please enlighten me what this screw does?  It is found near the lens cell and threads through the dew shield.  I can turn it with my fingers and it feels like spring-loaded.

That's a spring loaded lock for the dewshield.
