I took this afocal photo of the 3 day old Moon yesterday evening through my 6" Dob, using a 15mm eyepiece (80x). The arrow points to the area that Blue Ghost landed on the other day.

Cool!

Here is a youtuber that tries to pinpoint the exact landing  site:

A few shots from march 5-7 with mediocre seeing.

I haven't imaged the moon for quite some  time and I think never with the 6" mak and I am surprised by the level of the details shown, the difference with the 5 mak is clear.

Anyway the moon is always rewarding.

Scottsdale 3/9/25. seeing and transparency was very good.

Jet stream suggested that seeing should be quite good (blue/green is < 20mph). Probably had some local seeing perturbations from roof plumes.

I did some stacks, but I was underwhelmed. However, here is a single 2 msec snapshot through my C6 paired with an asi678mc. I just took a bunch of singles and tried to capture the moment of steady seeing rather than stack in the traditional sense, although it was 'lucky' imaging in that I did capture the steady moment.

The photo was taken 4 days ago using 120mm achromat. It's a mosaic of 4 photos, each stack 50% of 1000 frames. B & UV/IR cut filter.

Here's a hand-held afocal iPhone shot of the waxing gibbous Moon and Mars during the conjunction on Saturday night that I took using a 26mm Tele Vue smooth side Plössl and my 80mm f/5 ShortTube 80 refractor.

The full-sized version on Astrobin has a lot of detail and you've even captured all three of the Apollo 11 craters at a not very optimum phase of the moon (for those craters). Nice work and thanks for posting.

Freaking Clouds!  I watched the clouds roll in just as the blood moon started.

I took about 300 photos every time the clouds thinned hoping to catch a glimpse.

This was shot 2 hours before the blood moon.  Heavy haze in the air, light clouds.  Really nothing spectacular, but I wanted to document because this is my first MOSIAC with Microsoft ICE.

There are more variables involved here than just the size of the objective (things like the seeing conditions and the image scale). But, here is a CN link (in this same thread) where I captured an image of a similar phase of the moon using a 50mm aperture Stellarvue SV50ED scope with a barlow and an old QHY5III-178C camera (taken just over seven years ago).

The moons looks icy indeed Maybe you didn't properly insulate your scope :-)

I have this image captured on 7th February using my Vixen R130S and an industrial camera. Probably, too much saturation but I like how blue the Tycho crater and the south pole is.

Thank you for looking !!!
