I took this hand-held afocal iPhone photo of the 15.6-day-old Moon last night using a 25mm Meade Series 5000 HD-60 and a 6" Apertura AD6 Dob.

A single frame (no stacking and from a fixed tripod) shot of Friday night's crescent moon. Taken with a Nikon Z8 and a NIKKOR Z 180-600mm VR lens. Image processing with Photoshop 2025. There are additional capture details in the image captions and you can click on the below preview/thumbnail to see the full-size image as hosted here on CN (1600 x 1200 pixels).
I have a series of still images that I can stack to produce a better result, both on the earthshine and a second sequence using a shorter exposure for the sunlit side of the moon (i.e. for the craters, etc.). I was also able to take some shots as the moon set over a tree line, posted in the following thread here on CN:

Tonight (Saturday) I used a tracking mount to capture a better shot of the earthshine on the moon.
In this single frame capture the brightest star, HD 86091 on the upper left, has a magnitude of +7.7 while the faintest stars are just below magnitude 11. In total, a few dozen stars are visible in the background sky.

I have been doing a bit of imaging with the ZWO ASI585mc over the past week, a departure from my usual mono cam imaging. So today I can show you a few images acquired with the ASI585mc, Baader UV/IR cut L filter, and the Skywatcher Evostar 150DX.
Clear Skies,
Brian

I wanted to capture the Copernicus ejecta near sunrise conditions, here is one of those results. Taken with the Skywatcher Evostar 150DX, ZWO ASI158mc camera, and a Baader UV/IR cut L filter:
And here is a shot of Mare Serenitatis from 3 July 2025 with the same rig:
Clear Skies,

This was a 17 panel mosaic taken back in 2017 with my then new Celestron C80ED and a Televue 2.5x Powermate along with my ASI120MC. Each panel was the best 25% of around 1,000 frames. I had to shrink it down to 52% of it's original size to meet CN guidelines so this doesn't really do it justice.
