You have the same passion for your scope as I have for my FS78. I have mine piggybacked on my 8" SCT and on many nights spend more time with the "78". There is just something about those APO refractor views. Great review, enjoyed it very much.

Nice report!

Well deserved attention for a spectacualar scope and a scope maker. Many of my club members have remarked that the SV80S is one of the finest 80mm refractors made.

It is heavier than it looks --- a good mount is worth it.

I recently acquired an Apogee Orthostar 80mm with the Lomo fluorite triplet, and can attest to the marvelous quality of the optics. An F/6 with absolutely color-free, tack-sharp performance is a real treasure.
